Day 240 / 605 – Battery Russell in Fort Stevens State Park.

Fort Stevens State Park is home to Battery Russell, a gun battery during World War 2.  The structure is still there, and you are welcome to climb around it.  Just don’t expect the guns to still be there.

This is the Peter Iredale, or what remains of it. The ship ran into a sandbar off Clatsop Beach, and while much of the ship was salvaged, this remains over a hundred years later.
